August 6, 2012

It's been a while since my last post, due mostly to taking finals and then traveling to Paris where I had no wifi. So now I'm left to an overload of pictures and no blogging. So I'll try to pick a few from each day and not bombard you with a million photos.
Anyway, the last few days in Uzes were so much fun. In the south of France, every year they have a running of the bulls and a "bull pool." In the bull pool, Frenchman who need to prove their manhood get into a small ring with a bull and try to get it to chase them. Then, in the nick of time, they jump up onto the fence. Or they get trampled. It's usually one or the other. So that was fun to see. We saw a parade, and a running of the bulls up and down the city streets (which was kind of horrifying) and topped it off with a dance in the city in which I mostly sat and took pictures of the hippest, cutest old couple I've ever seen. Then we went and took a tour of our villa owner's friend's vineyard which was amazing and then I spent the next few days by the pool studying and taking finals. Rough life, I know.

Then we came to Paris and boy, is it magical. We went to the Louvre, the Museum Dorse, the Arc de Triumph, the oldest cafe in Paris, Sacre Coure, and so much more. All the days sort of just run together now because it has been a non stop whirlwind of different adventures. And tonight, I'm in a hotel with Rylee and Breegan-- Rylee's dad is a diamond member at the Hilton so we've been bumped up to the executive level with a lounge full of free food and champagne, so we aren't really mad. We are just watching the Olympics (in English finally!) and relaxing after our free swanky dinner. We go HOME TOMORROW. And France has been amazing, but I am so ready to be back in the land of refills, free toilets, horseless meat in restaurants, white toilet paper, speaking English, free water, my bed, and so much more. I'm so ready for Seattle! I will see you tomorrow USA, I love you.
